finished project

Triumpho film project

finished project feelings

To say the least I think that the main idea for this whole project was that it could've been better whether that be through the process, the effort put in by classmates, the quality of our film, etc. however that doesn't mean it wasn't terrible I think it was definitely fun to do. So some issues we had during our project were finding a place to film, deciding who does what, and staying on track to our story board. We actually just decided to rewrite our entire film because we wanted to do something completely different from what we had already imagined and written down after we were already like halfway into our original project. Plus all of the filming was done at my house because I already had everything I needed for the film. Some things I used from class in the film were definitely lighting and how to set the lighting up I used two yellow lights from two different angles creating the effect of fill lighting as best as we could; and some thing's I learned during the...

Editing post 2

Image
We didn't spend too long editing as the software we use makes it very easy to edit clips togethor; all together we might have spent around 40 mins editing. The main person involved in editing was Xavier P. but that's just because he is the editor but people like Xavier B. and I have included our opinions into the editing process. All of the filming we have done has been at my house and by me so the only additional filming we will be doing will be at my house today after I get home then we will be completely done.

lighting

We use many yellow lights and natural lights from the outside. The yellow definitely contributes to the suspense and uneasiness of the film and the natural lighting makes it feel more realistic to the viewer. we did not choose to edit the lighting in post production.

updated storyboard

Image
So our new storyboard is almost completely different from the original one. The first scene we changed to a slow trucking sequence of shade on a drum set then he wakes up from a dream in a low lit room with birds chirping then he gets changed, puts his backpack on with his drumsticks sticking out to show he's a dedicated drummer, then he leaves saying he doesn't have time for breakfast after his mom tells him breakfast tis ready then he slams the door leading to the title sequence. We changed literally the whole thing because it was easier to film and it was cooler in our opinions.

editing 1

so for our editing process we have Xavier Pennymon doing all the editing with a program called Capcut we don't really have any video effects as it isn't necessary in our film but we do use transitions like fades and jump cuts. The only problem we encountered  for editing was how to display the title sequence and we kinda decided to present it with different drum hits in the film.

group dynamics

So our group dynamic is pretty even for the most part because we do have one kid Xavier Baptiste who kind of pushes us to do our work which is kind of helpful especially when I forget or don't feel like doing it he kind of encourages which is kind of his job because he is the director. I also would say that we all pull our weight because we all do our jobs we all just kind of take a long time to get our work done which isn't helpful for anybody. I personally felt most challenged by figuring out how to make our vision come to life because we didn't really see the same idea but then we narrowed it down after some trial and error.

title sequence blog post

Image
We used the font "vogue" (as seen below) as it looks very stoic and artistic as it just looked very clean and neat and it looked good with the film behind it. We kind of came to the conclusion after I suggested the font after looking through many fonts from the program we are using called "Capcut". some runner ups were This is vogue

main character analysis

The main character shade has short dark brown hair and jeans and a t-shirt plus he has a backpack and drumsticks and a drum set that are associated to him throughout the film. His mental health is slowly declining into a sort of worried and frantic state of mind because of  his music teacher Samuel. They are a very silly playful person with a sense of objective they also communicate in a very nervous kind of unaware way.

Color Use

So in our project we use a lot of natural light and a small amount of yellow light to draw contrast. For most of the film we are using natural lighting from windows creating a natural "calm" practicing environment while using yellow to show a little bit of madness and insecurity from the side character Samuel.
